Volume cash storage for
emerging economy Bank
Improving Cashier Accuracy and Efficiency
High security in open counter Building
society
Multi-currency storage in limited
space
The Requirement
A major Bank in an emerging economy requested full refurbishment
of its cash management system. Card and e-Banking are not yet
established. Cash remains King yet security in this religious
country is not a major issue.
The Solution
Cash Bases identified the need for high capacity cash storage
with extra note storage. A Maximum capacity drawer configured
with flexible note inserts to store a high volume of notes yet
with a short stroke was supplied with an identical high
capacity, under counter mounted flip lid drawer on top. The
insert for this drawer was configured to store coins and notes
for all the actual transactions.
The Benefits
The counter retains space for screen and transaction tray,
counting, form filling and promotional merchandise. Employees
are customer facing at comfortable distance from the counter due
to the short opening depth of the drawer. Customers are assured
of available cash so manage their money through the Banks who
earn interest on their deposits.

The Requirement

A special flip lid drawer with integral, lockable lid was
designed with a flexible insert with floppy dividers and
specifically moulded individual coin stackers replacing half of
the traditional cups. The insert was capable of being configured
for left or right-handed cashiers.
The
Benefits
Ergonomics are specific to the handedness of the operator making
counting more effective and comfortable. Coins can be quickly
given to customers from the graded coin stackers and filled from
the cups in quiet times. Inserts can be locked, replaced and
removed for counting by a supervisor. Cashier desire to be
accurate is improved and in addition they are left free to serve
customers.

The Requirement
An English National Building society briefed a need to trigger
its security from a hidden source at low risk to employees. Cash
storage is not an issue as they hold less cash than the average
multiple retailer but thieves believe otherwise.
The Solution
Cash Bases supplied a high security flip lid drawer. A dummy
note holder containing a tiny micro switch covered by a single
£5 note was incorporated. If withdrawn the note would trigger
the switch and a stainless steel, gas powered screen raises
immediately.
The Benefits
Customers benefit from an unthreatening environment with no
screens. Employees are safe in the knowledge that they have some
protection from the front facing flip lid and can offer to hand
over money to an armed robber and be instantly protected from
them. The cleverly overlapping design of the high security front
plate will withstand excessive forced entry making it less easy
to open the more it is prised. In the event of a break-in
revenue is protected. In some instances insurance costs are
reduced by taking additional precautions.

The Requirement
A nationwide Bureau de Change needed high volume, multiple note
storage. Cashiers occupied customer-facing counters with the
drawer coming out to their side and needing to withstand
repeated open and close cycles during the day.
The Solution
Cash Bases provided two high capacity, under-mounted drawers
with rotatable, adjustable inserts. The drawers were narrow and
deep with enough height to stand the widest note on its side.
The bottom drawer was configured for 28 different currency notes
and the upper for 8 coins and 14 further notes.
The Benefits
The drawer takes up minimum width and is very deep which doesn’t
matter in the space available. The rotatable insert allows the
cashier to turn the notes and coins to a position that will
minimise twisting. The drawer is robust and ideal for busy
environments with a high volume of cash transactions.
