Issues

The customer presented Cash Bases with bags of coin to demonstrate capacity required within the coin cups. They wanted:

 

the ability to weigh count coin

to prevent key-sharing

avoid key-loss

deter theft of notes

the facility to match cashier to drawer when cashing up

to have drawers suitable for bulk checkouts and standing podia e.g. customer service kiosk

high throughput lunch – time checkouts.
 

The solution

Two drawers were commissioned. Each has:

 

removable coin cups to required capacity

no lock

anti-grab covers on the notes

removable integral lids with inserts with name-plates.

 

One drawer is a Modspec 380 x 240mm flip top for seated operators and the other is a Modspec 490 x 170mm designed with a shorter flip top lid for standing operator.

 

Displaced capacity is managed within the extra width found in a 490mm wide drawer.
